About the session

Awaken into spring with lively harmony songs, all taught by ear. We'll explore the inner world of our voices through short creative exercises, practice a bit of improvisation, and learn upbeat spring-themed songs that reflect the vibrant unfolding of this season. • Step into a bright and breezy (heated!) tipi, surrounded by fields • Sing beautiful songs in full harmony, all taught by ear • Enjoy delicious savoury snacks and cakes from the Spire and Spoke • No experience necessary THE VENUE The workshop will take place in the tipi at the Spire and Spoke in Watlington, a pretty event space surrounded by nature. The excellent team at the Spire and Spoke will provide home-made savoury snacks and cakes for our little 'afternoon tea' break! If the weather is on our side we can open up the tent sides for fresh spring air. THE RETREAT HOST Rachel Holmes is a singer and choir leader based in Oxfordshire. She connects emotion, body and voice into powerful group singing. In 2019 she trained as a natural voice leader with Kate Valentine and currently runs natural voice song circles in Chilton and Cholsey. She completed Line Hilton’s singing teacher training in 2020 and completed her Foundation in Art Therapy at IATE in 2021. Rachel loves bringing these threads together into a holistic and uplifting experience of singing. WHO CAN ATTEND? This retreat is open to adults who love singing and anyone curious about their voice. No experience is necessary. Bold expression and timid uncertainty are both warmly welcomed. A STIMULATING WORKSHOP The rustic party setting sets the stage for expressive singing and space to move. As well as singing, you can participate in creative activities that deepen the mind-body connection and help reveal the fascinating inner workings of your voice. Booking is essential and closes one week before the event. Spaces are limited to 20. Tickets are non-refundable. Refreshments are included in your ticket price.
